In short: small online classes, 10-week terms, fees paid weekly or upfront for 10% off, join any time while there’s a place, and give us a heads-up if you can’t make a lesson.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to tutoring provided by AHA Learning (ABN 69 595 445 148). By enrolling a student in a class or booking a 1-on-1 lesson, you agree to these terms. If the student is under 18, a parent or guardian must enrol them and accept these terms on their behalf.
2. Our classes
- All classes run live online through Google Meet.
- Each class has a maximum of 5 students, and each year group has its own class.
- Classes run in 10-week terms, with two lessons a week:
- Years 7–10 Science: 2 × 1-hour lessons a week
- Year 11 Biology and Year 12 HSC Biology: 2 × 1.5-hour lessons a week
- Term dates, breaks and class times are confirmed when you enrol.
3. The AHA Check-in
Every new student starts with a free 15-minute AHA Check-in. It includes a short assessment so we can understand where the student is at. There’s no obligation to enrol afterwards.
4. Fees
- Years 7–10 Science: $950 per 10-week term, or $95 a week
- Year 11 Biology: $1,500 per 10-week term, or $150 a week
- Year 12 HSC Biology: $1,650 per 10-week term, or $165 a week
- Pay upfront and save 10%: $855, $1,350 and $1,485 respectively, when the full term is paid before the first lesson.
- 1-on-1 lessons: $110 an hour (Years 7–10) or $130 an hour (Years 11–12).
Fees can be paid by card (including Apple Pay and Google Pay) through our secure payment provider, Stripe, or by bank transfer. See our payments page for details. Weekly fees are paid in advance: the first payment is taken when you sign up, then once a week until the term’s 10 weekly payments have been made. Bank transfers should include the student’s name and year level as the reference. If fees are more than two weeks overdue, we may pause the student’s place until they’re paid.
Fees may change for future terms. We’ll always let you know before a new term starts.
5. Joining part-way through a term
Students can join a class at any time while there’s a place available. You’ll only pay for the weeks remaining in the term. We’ll share notes on the topics already covered and work with you on the best way for your child to catch up.
6. Missed lessons
- Please let us know as soon as possible if a student can’t attend a lesson.
- Fees aren’t refunded or credited for lessons a student misses, but we’ll share notes and any work from the lesson, and a make-up lesson may be offered where there’s space.
- If we need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, we’ll give as much notice as possible and offer a make-up lesson or a credit.
7. Withdrawing from a class
- To withdraw, please let us know in writing by email.
- Weekly payments stop from the following week.
- Upfront payments: we’ll refund any full weeks remaining after the week you withdraw, calculated at the weekly rate.
8. 1-on-1 lessons
- 1-on-1 lessons are booked in advance and depend on availability.
- Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Lessons cancelled with less notice, or missed without notice, are charged in full.
9. Online safety and conduct
- Lessons are taught by a qualified teacher who holds a current NSW Working With Children Check (WWC0569485E).
- Students should join from a quiet space with a working camera and microphone, and treat everyone in the class with respect.
- Lessons must not be recorded, photographed or shared by students or families, to protect everyone’s privacy.
- For students under 18, we communicate with parents or guardians about enrolment, fees and progress.
- Parents are responsible for the student’s device and internet connection. If a technical problem on our side affects a lesson, we’ll offer a make-up lesson.
10. Learning resources
Notes, practice questions, practice exams and other materials are created by AHA Learning for enrolled students’ personal study. Please don’t share, copy or sell them.
11. Results
We’ll always do our best to help every student understand the content and improve. Results depend on many things, including the student’s effort and school, so we can’t guarantee a particular mark, band or ATAR.
12. Your rights
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales.
13. Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page. If you have any questions, please get in touch:
