How classes run
Small classes. More attention. Better learning.
All AHA Learning classes are online and limited to a maximum of 5 students, because students learn better when they can ask questions, take part and get individual attention.
Gaps found early
Small groups make it easy to see where each student is at, spot gaps in understanding and adapt the lesson when something isn’t clicking.
Actively involved, not sitting in the background
Students don’t sit quietly while a teacher talks. They take part in every lesson.
Safe to make mistakes
A supportive space to ask questions, make mistakes and build confidence, without feeling lost in a large classroom.
Everything you need to make Science click
Small online classes from Year 7 through to the HSC, following the NSW syllabus and built around understanding, not memorisation.
Years 7–10

Meet your teacher
Hi, I’m Larissa.
I know what it’s like when Science just doesn’t make sense, because I was once that student too.
Science and Biology didn’t always come naturally to me, so I understand the frustration of hearing something explained and still thinking, “I just don’t get it.”
That experience, combined with 10 years of teaching in NSW classrooms, has shaped how I teach today. My strength is taking complicated Science and Biology concepts and breaking them down into simple, clear ideas that students can actually understand and apply.

I have extensive experience supporting students with learning difficulties, EAL/D backgrounds and gaps in foundational knowledge. Sometimes students don’t need more hours of tutoring. They need concepts explained in a way that finally makes sense to them, with no judgement, by someone who just gets it.
Through AHA Learning, I help Year 7–10 Science and Year 11–12 Biology students build understanding, confidence and the skills they need to reach their potential.
What I’m looking for with every student is the AHA moment, when a difficult concept suddenly makes sense and they think, “Oh… now I get it!”

FAQ
Questions parents often ask
Can’t find what you’re after? Get in touch and we’ll reply personally.
Are all classes online?
Yes. Every AHA Learning class runs live on Google Meet, so students anywhere in NSW can join from home with no travel time.
How many students are in each class?
A maximum of 5. That’s small enough for every student to ask questions, take part and get individual attention, which is how those AHA moments happen.
Which year groups do you teach?
Year 7–10 Science and Year 11–12 Biology, following the NSW syllabus.
My child has a learning difficulty or is EAL/D. Can you help?
Absolutely. We have extensive experience supporting students with learning difficulties, EAL/D backgrounds and gaps in foundational knowledge. Concepts are explained clearly, at the student’s pace, with no judgement.
Do you teach the new Biology syllabus?
Yes. Year 11 classes follow the new NSW Biology 11–12 syllabus from 2027, covering Cells as the Basis of Life, Cells to Systems, and Evolution and Ecosystems. Year 12 students sitting the 2027 HSC continue with the current syllabus (Modules 5–8), and Year 12 moves to the new syllabus from Term 4, 2027, ready for the first new HSC exam in 2028.
Do you offer 1-on-1 lessons?
Yes, though spots are limited each week. 1-on-1 lessons follow the same structured program as our classes, taught in order, just with individual attention. They are $110 an hour for Years 7–10 Science and $130 an hour for Years 11–12 Biology. Many families start with small-group classes, which give students 2–3 hours of teaching a week for a similar cost.
Is there a free first session?
Yes. Every new student starts with a free 15-minute AHA Check-in on Google Meet (parents welcome). Your child completes a short assessment so we can see exactly where they’re at and how they learn best, before you decide to enrol. See how it works.
What do I need for online classes?
A laptop or computer with a camera, a microphone and a stable internet connection, plus a pen, a workbook for taking notes and a quiet place to learn. Classes run on Google Meet, and you’ll get the link by email.
How much does it cost?
Every program runs two online lessons a week over a 10-week term, in a class of no more than 5 students.
Year 7–10 Science: $950 per 10-week term, or $95 a week (2 × 1-hour lessons)
Year 11 Biology: $1,500 per term, or $150 a week (2 × 1.5-hour lessons)
Year 12 HSC Biology: $1,650 per term, or $165 a week (2 × 1.5-hour lessons)
Pay the term upfront and save 10%: $855, $1,350 and $1,485 respectively.
At AHA Learning, student safety and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to providing a safe, supportive and positive learning environment where every student can feel comfortable, confident and ready to learn.
